PZE Aero Engine PalletRolls-Royce Trent 7000 engine stand Back to overview
The Aero Engine Pallet has been designed to transport Rolls-Royce’s Trent 7000 aero engines by air. It is much stronger than standard pallets, which bend easily under the weight of both the engine and the engine stand.
This heavy-duty pallet is strong enough to hold an engine and its stand up to a combined weight of approx. 13 tonnes. In order to take the weight of a complete aero engine, the pallet is extremely solid and rigid. It has a sandwich construction: a top and bottom sheet with in between stiffeners/beams, similar to a conventional heavy-duty pallet. This means the engine stand can be bolted to the pallet, making it strong enough to hold an aero engine of approx 5.5 tonnes.
The pallet also has a recessed part to function as a cut-out for the fan section, allowing it to fit through the loading doors.
It’s based on a 196x125 inch footprint to match the size of the engine stand. Although this is a non-standard size, it can still be loaded onto several types of aircraft such as the B747 and B777.
