Our ABN air cargo container is specifically designed for use on board of the BAE146-200QC/QT and BAE146-300QT.

The ABN should theoretically be named ABY container, however it was preferred to designate the container differently to clearly differentiate it from regular ABY (9G vs 1.5G) containers which are also operated in the container fleet.

When flying without a crash barrier net (Class I restraint system), the container has a Max Gross Weight of 4000 lbs. The container could also be used on aircraft with a crash barrier (Class II) and would then allow for a doubled Max Gross Weight of 8000 lbs.

For TNT Express, the container is designated with ABN to differentiate it with a regular (1.5G) container. There is a slight change in dimensions, however functionality and aircraft type usage are the same.

The container is part of the same series that originated from development work for the express industry, this ABN is believed to be one of the more robust 9G containers available to allow high frequent usage. Durability, strength (impact resistance), easy repair in case of damage and reduced parts count throughout the whole ULD family are key words with this container series.
